555 Days Towards Level 9000: Day 21.
Time Awake: 10:45 a.m.
Human beings actually do need sleep. Experts vary in their opinions of time for sleep, but generally 8 solid hours are considered best in today’s society. It’s been otherwise at other times in history. Many people today will say that six hours is sufficient.
For a variety of reasons, I get five to six every night. Then I’ll wake up and can’t go back. Many days where I write that I’m “dragging ass” involves me being awake but barely functioning or still laying about. It happens.
I am blessed to have a handful of people in my Life who regularly check on my sleeping patterns and encourage me to sleep more. To all of you: thank you.
Right after I conduct a spiritual grounding meditation tonight — which I will speak more about on another day — I intend to focus my mind on simply falling asleep. I decide this, and make the effort for it to be so.
Rest, Mike. And rest, everyone else. Get the rest your body needs in order for you to be your best.
