555 Days Towards Level 9000: Day 83.
Time Awake: 9:30ish
“Is this a mountain I am willing to die on?”
Despite butchering the phrase constantly, it is something worth considering for every venture in one’s Life.
I was speaking with a friend earlier and one of the topics was money. Despite recognizing its necessity as a tool, I still have a deep hatred for it. And I fight certain battles to not have it taken away or misappropriated out of my control.
Yet, it is not the most important resource. I can always make more money. The most important of all resources is TIME.
Time is the one resource that never returns, never replenishes.
Which leads to the above phrase: “Is this a mountain I am willing to die on?”
I spend an awful lot of time fighting certain battles. Much time and waiting and wasting goes into those battles. Is my Time worth how I am expending it?
If the answer is yes, then I am figuratively willing to die on the mountain, essentially saying that the passion or expenditure is worth all sacrifice and Time.
If the answer is no… then appropriate steps need to be taken to change the circumstance. If no immediate actions can be taken, then at least movements that will lead to future change must be embarked upon.
Our Life is finite. I often forget this, especially when I get wrapped up in bullshit. Then I remember: we’re only here for so long. Fight when necessary. Love when necessary. Dance when necessary. Climb those mountains you are willing to die on.
