555 Days Towards Level 9000: Day 104.
Time Awake: 9:50 a.m.
Non-negotiables. Essentially, things that must get done every single day, no negotiation.
For me, the new non-negotiables are sleep, proper eating and exercise. All of these have been shirked to focus on stress but that was stupid and wasteful and led to a less awesome Me.
Having made these a priority once again will help be the fullest version of myself.
Sleep. I function best on seven hours (eight is okay too). So I must have seven hours each night. If I work late or things come up where I must sleep less, then a nap during the day is a must. When I do not sleep I am no fun to be around, barely function and am a shell of myself.
Eating properly. Along with stress, not eating properly has undoubtedly contributed to weight loss and being a lesser version of myself. I found an expert in my contacts and now have a focused eating plan for myself.
Exercise. This got thrown to the wayside altogether but is just as important as the above two. Exercise keeps me aware and focused and feeling physically and mentally healthy. Consulting my resources, I found another person who focuses his livelihood on exercise. He provided me with an exercise plan.
Sleep. Eating properly. Exercise. Doing all of these every day requires discipline. And that’s okay.
There is a saying by retired Navy SEAL and current speakifier Jocko Willink: “Discipline Equals Freedom.” I believe it. Having the discipline to keep yourself at your best means having the energy and focus to enjoy the things you want to do otherwise rather than being “too tired” or any other excuse.
